The Shakoor Lucas Foundation was founded by Shakoor Lucas at just 16 years–old, driven by a deep passion for serving others, uplifting communities and creating opportunities for those who are often overlooked. What began in 2024 as a small community initiative, known as the Rise Against Poverty Project, grew from a simple but powerful belief: where you come from should never determine how far you can go.
Rooted in lived experience and a commitment to social change, the Foundation works to address challenges affecting children, young people and vulnerable communities. Through initiatives focused on education, youth development, food relief, leadership and community empowerment, we strive to restore hope, open doors to opportunities and help individuals realise their potential.
